Women of Achievement

Each year, the Nevada Women’s Fund hosts the Salute to Women of Achievement Luncheon where nearly 1,200 guests attend the annual event. We are honored to continue to provide creative development and public relations support for this incredible event which helps raise funds for scholarships and grant making for local northern Nevadan women. The Nevada Women’s Fund is dedicated to strengthening our community by empowering women to improve their lives and those of their families.

The Keynote was delivered by Heather “Lucky” Penney who was pilot of one of the two jets tasked with finding and disabling United Flight 93 on 9/11. The only way to do that would have been to fly her F-16 directly into the plane. Heather was ready on that day to give her life for the country, not knowing at the time of takeoff that United Flight 93 had already crashed attributed to the heroic act of the passengers onboard. Dr. Jane Adams Nichols was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the luncheon. Always understated and not seeking accolades, she is known as a social worker, counselor, advocate, activist, teacher, researcher, academician, and administrator. Jane Adams Nichols exemplifies a Nevada Women’s Fund Hall of Fame recipient. We are grateful to be a part of this important event that gives back to the community and empowers women and provides them with opportunities for pursuing higher education. Photos from the event. Press from the event: Reno Gazette-Journal – KTVN Someone to Know – Las Vegas Sun
